We had a great turnout for the 8th Annual Autumn Leaf Festival, a relaxed, popular-vote show for all British marques, held in conjunction with Moravian Academy's annual Country Fair. Especially considering the weather, which was overcast at best, and drizzly at the worst. But at least it wasn't cold!

"Jim Bast and I both heard Ed Hanna’s Friday forecast that the rain would be arriving Saturday evening," said show organizer Gerry Kunkle. "This was not the case, as there were intermittent sprinkles beginning around 11 a.m." Gerry reports that 46 cars were shown. The show had a little different feel this year, thanks to the work being done to create a new entrance to the school, which meant the lawn we usually stage the show on wasn't available. We did have a nice new road to park the cars on, but this prevented us from being able to set up the cars in classes. So cars were parked as they arrived.

Here are some photos from this year's show. It wasn't the best setting to shoot photos, since the ground on either side of the new road had just been seeded and was mostly mud. Also, about half the cars had to be parked in front of a lovely backdrop of John Deere and Caterpillar machines.

Maury de Angeli won best in show with his 1952 BRG FHC Jaguar XK120. Maury was also won best of show at the first Autumn Leaf Show in 1999 with his MG-Y Saloon.

Also to be recognized were the Lotus’s on display, one of which was a 1973 Lotus Europa, John Player Special Edition, car owned by Tony Hess, and a 1969 Lotus Elan owned by Dennis Connell.

Below is the list of participants’ choice awards.

"We wish to thank everyone who came and participated in the show," Gerry said. "Next year, the show will be returning to the park-like setting of grass and trees instead of black top and construction equipment. See you next year!"
